Avatar Yoga Walk For PKD 2008
On September 20, 2008, Avatar Yoga had it's first selfless service event--the Walk for PKD. It was a resounding success. Combined we raised approximately $600.00 for the cause. This number was well above our expectations. Good weather was coupled with good friends for a good cause. Wendy and Simon B. made an appearance to walk and show their support. Good karma followed us later when both Wendy and myself won prizes in the Chinese auction. Wendy won a beautiful basket full of designer fragrances, shampoos, and soaps and I won a set of steel beverage tumblers and a steel Thermos (perfect to fill with chai for the colder months ahead!). An extra set of congratulations go out to Wendy as she raised the most money for PKD for our team--more than $500.00. A special mention goes out to Daniel T. for his generous donation even though he could not join us. Thank you all for your support in making this event a success!!
